Fellowship
The Greek word for fellowship is koinonia, which is translated as “communion” in (1 Cor. 10:16) in the King James version of the Bible. It is where we get “communion” as another name for Holy Communion or Lord’s Supper.
As Christians, fellowship is an outlet for our love of God and each other, and at Grace we take it as serious fun. It is about sharing about our interests, thoughts, and perspectives as we spend time communicating, listening, nurturing, sharing and having fun!
On Sunday mornings we fellowship at 9:00 and again at 10:00. During these interludes we sing to guitar music, chat, munch on snacks, sip coffee, and generally spend time enjoying each other’s company.
At other times our fellowship calendar features an “event” that provides good times and wonderful memories. Such as:
- Shrove Tuesday (Mardi Gras) Pancake Supper
- Lenten Dinners with guest speakers and a simple meal
- Worship service and picnic at Heritage Park with other area churches to welcome spring
- Sunday breakfasts between services
- Summer Time Cookouts and Movie Nights
- Pot Luck Suppers
- The Bistro on Arnold, a candle light dinner "in Roma" with Dean Martin, Connie Francis and others singing Italian favorites
- The Sock Hop on Arnold complete with bobbie socks, duck-tails, Hula-Hoop contest and an Elvis Concert
- Ultreyas, monthly gatherings hosted by Grace’s Cursillo community in our homes,
which are open to all parishioners
- Annual pre-Easter parish cleanup day
- Cullman’s Annual Lessons and Carols with Dessert and Coffee following; a celebration of Christ’s birth told through scripture and song
Christianity at Grace is Interesting, Fulfulling, Challenging, and FUN!
Come & See! (John 4:29)
