Prayer Requests
Prayer is conversation with God. It is like quietly opening a door and entering into the very presence of God. There, in the stillness we can listen to His voice for guidance and strength and petition Him with our cares. What we have to say matters not…just to be there, in His presence, is prayer. (Daughters of the King)
Depending on your, or your loved one’s needs, you have three options below.
Prayer Chain
The Prayer Chain begins praying the same day they receive the request and those in need up for about three consecutive days. This is usually employed for things like child birth, surgery and other short-term needs.
Call the first person on the list, based on the time of day, to activate the prayer chain. If she is not there, leave your prayer request on her answering machine and let them know you are calling the next person listed. Continue until you reach a living human who will then continue the chain for you. Of course, anything you say will be held in absolute confidence.
A lot of detail isn't needed. You might simply say that “John is struggling with some issues and needs your prayers.” The type of problem he is experiencing, background information, or even his last name is not necessary. God already knows the details.

The Daughters of the King (DOK)
The DOK offer longer-term prayers, usually for X number of days/months. These prayers are often for those who may have addictions, chronic illnesses, or other ongoing situations in their lives where God’s help, comfort, and guidance is sought.

The Prayers of the People
This is another term for the prayers of intercession in the eucharist (church service). Intercession reminds us that the concerns of the Church include individual and local suffering, as well as global concerns for justice and peace. Grace uses Rite II except during Lent, which includes prayers for individuals who are sick or have died.
If you have a sick or departed loved one you want included by name in these prayers, send their name and whether they are sick or departed here. Prayers for the sick will continue until you let Felicia or Bob know to take them off the list. The departed will be included for two weeks.
