Adult Sunday School
The adult program this year is a loose take on Eugene Peterson's Christ Plays in Ten Thousand Places, a book that maps out a practical way to live out the day to day Christian life. We are also using James W. Moore’s There is a Hole in Your Soul Only God Can Fill. This book helps us move our thinking outside of ourselves and see time as a precious gift from God.
We use group discussion as the primary way we learn from the book and from each other. Sometimes, we stand up and choose sides on a phrase or statement in hope of learning to think theologically in everyday life.
We always have a laugh or two, and usually come away with an insight about ourselves, our neighbors at the table, and about God.
Phil Freeman brings to bear his excellent teaching skills and insights in leading this class.
